Family Services

Case Management Services help our children's families find resources in the community and identify sources of funding for child care and other services. Staffed by licensed social workers, the Social Services Department works collaboratively with hospitals and medical providers, other social services in the Dallas area, and educational programs to support these families and to help them stay together and be self-sufficient. Three full-time social workers are available on site to counsel parents and help them make plans, to provide referrals, and to qualify the children and other family members for services.

Emergency Financial Assistance is available on a limited basis to families who qualify and who have a child who has a special health need or who have a family member who is HIV-positive. Social workers document the financial emergency, review the family finances, and determine what aid is needed. Emergency assistance is paid to the landlord, utility company, or pharmacy for rent, utilities, or medications.

Parent Support Groups in Spanish, English, and Swahili allow caregivers to meet and share ideas while receiving emotional support. Staff members who speak a wide variety of languages make it possible to provide services for parents who reflect the Dallas community.

Donated Goods Distribution provides food, diapers, formula, toys and clothing to our families when they lack the means to buy these things themselves. A warehouse contains items that are donated by the community for use by our families, and social workers determine the needs of families for these items.

Adopt-a-Child School Supply Program prepares children for the new school year by providing them with the supplies necessary. Donors can chose to adopt a child and are provided with a list of the child's school supplies. Or a monetary donation is made and Bryan's House staff will purchase the items on the list on behalf of the donor.

Adopt-a-Family Holiday Program helps families by granting them their three greatest wishes over the holidays. School and Holiday Adopt a Family programs help provide normalcy for client families.
